Disappearance of flight AF447 (in June 01st, 2009)

It is with an immense sadness that I learnt the disappearance of an AIRBUS A330 of Air France with 228 persons on board today, the flight AF 447 from Rio de Janeiro disappeared above the Atlantic Ocean this morning of June first, 2009, I share the pain of the families of 216 passengers as well as 12 crew members, ( my colleagues) in this tragic event.

A double tribute was made on Wednesday, June 03rd, 2009 for the missing persons of the Airbus Rio-Paris as well as for their families: after the prayer organized in the mosque of Paris, an oecumenical religious tribute was celebrated from 4:00 pm till 5:30 pm in the cathedral Notre-Dame of Paris, the choir of Air France sang a requiem in this opportunity.
From my side I would indeed have been assisted this ceremony, but by respect for the families of the victims ,I preferred to follow that by far.
I am profoundly touched by this tragic event, as each of us of the Air France family, and I renew to all colleagues PNC and PNT, my total confidence in their professionalism, and send them my deepest support at these dramatic moments as well as my permanent brotherhood.
