The first information concerning the seigneury of Bougey appears from 1127 but it is by 1311, appears the first mention of a castle to Bougey.
Today the castle is a historic patchwork: the tower of angle being dated 1584, a system of drawbridge, murderesses a magnificent pinnacle, a defensive system with effect of bossage of the XV-XVIth, the agricultural barns of the XIX-XXth.

The castle is every day opened (even the holidays) from 10 am till 12 am and from 2 pm till 5 pm.
